Oxygen Crisis in India
The country was suffering from an oxygen crisis in the second wave of the corona. As India had crossed 16 lakh Covid-19 infected patients, a number of states have informed shortages of medical oxygen. India does not have enough cryogenic tankers to ensure 24×7 road transport of medical oxygen. The oxygen deficit in the capital was the highest at that moment. Besides, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka also had a high demand for oxygen. The relatives of the patient had not been able to procure oxygen cylinders even after searching in different parts of the city. The picture of the state and the whole country was the same. The supply of portable oxygen cylinders was almost non-existent in the market.
The whole world has extended a helping hand to India. Aircraft and ships have carried oxygen cylinders by air and water. In England, the truck was loaded with the ventilator machine and the oxygen concentrator for India. From Saudi Arabia, 60 meters tons of oxygen concentrator was sent to India by sea. Singapore has sent Oxygen Concentrator and Covid Medicine to India. INOX Air Products makes about 2,600 tonnes of oxygen a day to solve the oxygen crisis and caters to over 26 states.
