India is my motherland. It is known by different names such as Bharat, Hindustan and etc. India is the land of people of diverse religions, traditions, and castes. To the north of our country, there are the Himalayas which protect us from beating cold wind and the attack of the enemies. Many rivers like the Ganga, the Brahmaputra, and the Yamuna are created from the Himalayas. The Indian Ocean stands to the south. Burma and Bangladesh are to the east and Pakistan and the Arabian sea is to the west. India is one of the biggest democratic countries. Here different kinds of people live and they speak different languages. There are various languages spoken in India. The national language is Hindi but other languages like Marathi, Bengali, Panjabi, Tamil, Telegu, etc are spoken widely. India is also rich in natural resources. Since independence, our country has been making progress in the fields of agriculture, education, medicine, science, industry, and technology. We are proud of our country and to be part of it. It is our responsibility to respect our motherland and its culture.
