A large area of the state became in accessible as about 10,000 kilomtres roads were under water and destroyed or damaged. Tele-communication system was also damaged. Electricity supply had been stopped. The government took various steps of relief work. Packets of dry food and the bottles of pure drinking water were sent to the affected areas or thrown from helicopters. Various voluntary organizations were busy in relief work.
